Collected This Week šļø Vol. 20
Everything I've collected this week: shell swimwear, a new way to carry wine, and a recommendation for Ralph Lauren admirers.
Hello, hi!
We've been soaking up every last bit of summer over here, but I still wanted to pop in and share a bit of what Iāve collected around the web and life this week. Lots of goodness! xx
Glimmer > Trigger. āToday, I learned about a term called āglimmer.ā Which is the opposite of a trigger. Glimmers are those moments in your day that make you feel joy, happiness, peace, or gratitude. Once you train your brain to be on the lookout for glimmers, these tiny moments will appear more and more.ā - Just something I saw recently from Artful Living that I thought youād love too.
Even though itās July, I just shopped swimwear because SHELLS. I might be alone in this but I have worn every single bathing suit I own 1,000 times already this spring and summer and I need a new suit to look forward to putting on. I went for a style I knew to be completely flattering and comfortable (I bought it last summer in blue) and a style with a print Iām obsessed with. I always find a way to incorporate shells and my this print is good - Lilly Sisto knows best! Donāt you love this top and bottom? It has a matching pareo too.
Summer Recipes!! I made these four recipes from the summer recipe database we created together during our final days in California (my kids devoured the chicken and the cavatelli like you wouldnāt believe!!!):
5 ingredient berry cobbler
Rosemary peach chicken in a white wine pan sauce (a new-to-me recipe one of you sent in that we loved!)
Panzanella
Summer cavatelli pasta with corn, tomato, and zucchini (a new-to-me recipe one of you sent in that we loved!)
A New Etsy Shop to Save. Ruxandra Maille Art paints the most beautiful oil painting, water colors, and sketches. Iām particularly taken by her flowers, her seascapes, and her landscapes. The size of her paintings really draws me in too.
Ralph Lauren Admirers Donāt Want to Miss This. I was first enchanted with Shelter Island years ago when my aunt and uncle drove me onto the ferry from āSaggy Harborā (as my aunt affectionately calls it) to enjoy dinner on neighboring Shelter Island. I returned for meals over the years but didnāt find myself with the good fortune to stay there until last summer, when Edwin and I really fell in love with the island and were taken with The Pridwin. Ever since, when I see the words āShelter Islandā in a headline, I click through. This brought me to Ralph Laurenās former chief creative officer and the designer of the Polo Bar, Alfredo Paredesā Shelter Island home. As a rule, I too am not a fan of Victorian architecture but this Victorian-lite home is a complete exception. The sunbathed side porch, the roses, and that green cupboard - thereās a lot to admire about this historic seaside home.
Iāve Never Had One Of These. But I just ordered one!
Life is Too Short to Drink Bad Wine. And not look cute while drinking it (this bag is my current obsession).
Mark Sikesā Take on Fashion. I miss MDS Stripes and would love to see how he would have evolved the brand over time but Markās collection with J.McLaughlin is really a side for sore eyes. Itās summer stripes and summer florals but done with his undeniably fresh perspective. If you want to add one more pop of summer to your wardrobe, something from his collection might be the ultimate winner! I adore these pants.
Under $200 Finds. Finds so good you canāt believe the price.
My favorite Julia Amory pareo is available in a stunning multi Roman stripe.
The lace and embroidery detail on this top is stunning.
Matching J.Crew top & skirt. Gingham is the pattern of the season.
Soon to be Staying Here with a Girlfriend. Pinch me!
Finding The People Youāre Meant to be with in Life Can be as Simple as Looking Up. Joey is a gem, Modern Love should have caught that, and I love her simple, sweet love story.
Last Weekās Top 5 Best Sellers. You all clicked and shopped for these items more than any othersā¦
The flowy white dress Iāve worn 5 or 6 times in the last month
Kids On Clouds (Rowan loves his + they are great for back to school!)
This darling watermelon hued eyelet dress
The green stripe double take dress we all canāt get enough of
The polka dot dress I wore for date night (now on sale!)
