Collected This Week 🗂️ Vol. 23
Everything I've collected this week: all things late summer Maine, the collab I didn't see coming, and a major dose of nostalgia.
Hello, Hi!
Hello, Hi! We are knee deep enjoying our last full week of summer before school starts on Tuesday of next week for Rowan and Thursday of next week for Henry and Peter. The boys and I are going to the beach today to soak up all that this week has to offer. The day calls for homemade sandwiches and bags of potato chips for lunch and then cozy pajamas and a summertime movie after a full day of outdoor play. We are still in it but I already know I will be nostalgic for this summer with my boys. I’ll yearn for the way it felt like the first time I had three children instead of one or two + a baby - the freedom that has afforded has given way to so many fun memories for us as a complete family of five, opposed to the divide and conquer family we’ve been in previous years with a baby. I’ll look back on this summer and remember it as the summer we came together as five in our outings and activities and, oftentimes, our bedtimes. It has been fun and special in so many I-can’t-put-it-into-words ways. I’m excited for the final days of the season before routine sets in.
Now, a bit of what I’ve collected around the web and life this week. Lots of goodness today! x
My Dad’s book is now available on Audible. It’s truly such a great read & I am so proud of him!
Currently Craving Browns and Blues. Here’s a couple of combos floating around my head:
Cloud blue cargo pants with a walnut brown halter (+ an espresso brown cardigan layered on top when it’s cold because I love tone on tone)
Plaid brown top with chic new blue jeans
Chocolate ticking stripe pants with a dusty blue smocked top
Sea ranch blue cotton poplin top and coordinating cotton twill pants with this chocolate rollneck sweater tied around your shoulders
Cotton silk paisley pareo with a cornflower blue button-down
This Cooking School in Maine is My Hyperfixation. I have this saved on my Instagram as a bucket-list experience that I really want to do either by myself or with a girlfriend; it looks so wonderful! Any amount of time would be good, but I have my eyes set on the weeklong master class. It’s sadly booked for next summer, so I put myself on the waitlist! I absolutely love Maine and will take any reason to be in New England during the summer, so this looks like the perfect opportunity.
A New Etsy Shop to Save. Start the school year off with super cute personalized items! I’m obsessed with kids' hats, and this shop, Stirabout, has the sweetest personalized options. I love the unique pendant design on their hats and their birthday plates and cards!
Brand New Alex Mill August Collection. I have yet to see another brand master the transition from summer to fall so easily. These colors are on point, the silhouettes are effortless, and I am personally loving the stripes.
Paige Paul Joined Substack. Admittedly, Paige and Tommy are my hyper obsession. So, yes, I’m excited to see what type of content she’s planning to share here. I’m hoping for lots of behind-the-scenes life + work type posts more than founder content.
If I Had a Wishlist Right Now, an Alley McGlynn Tunnel Book is the Only Thing I’d have on it. If I want to chill and smile, I watch her videos.
A New-to-Me Instagram Account for Antiques Shopping. Rare engravings, bespoke lamps, art, pretty frames, smalls, and more - it’s a great follow!
Under $200 Finds. Finds so good you can’t believe the price!!
Chic colorblocking on these shorts.
These ballet flats are perfect for pre-fall.
A Major Dose of Nostalgia and Magic through the Lens of Summer Camp. This is my favorite thing on the internet right now - a substack dedicated to the magic of summer camp. The author (who happens to be an incredibly talented photographer) spent her formative summers at sleepaway camp on a lake in Maine and was inspired to create a tribute to her camp. The project, aptly titled Camp Notes, grew into a tribute to summer camps across America and to summertime girlhood in general (and now boyhood, she just featured her first boys camp!). The photography and stories are crazy dreamy and will make you wistful for your summer camp years. Mine were spent in the redwood trees of Northern California and incredibly impactful on who I was and who I became as I grew up.
The Fruit of Late Summer as a New Candle. I love figs - cooking with them, using them in snacks for my boys, and including them on everything. Can’t wait to light this candle while eating a perfect piece of toast with fig jam!
Add These to Your Back to School List. Last week I wrote in The Catch Up all about ways to make back-to-school butterflies vanish by celebrating the excitement of a new school year, but I wanted to add these cutie book worn pajamas to the list!
The Collab I Didn’t See Coming and LOVE. I love a genius, out-of-the-box but totally aligned brand collab and the Sea Bags x Stonewall Kitchen collab is just that. My mom spotted it first and now I’m sharing! The bags are lighthouses and blueberries and canoes and all kinds of Maine nostalgia.
Late Summer Maine is My Inspo Right Now. (Can’t you tell with the summer camps and cooking schools and the imagery in this post?!). I’ve been adding a lot of it here on my Pinterest!
Last Week’s Best Sellers:
My mixed awning stripe poplin dress, y’all are ordering this every week this summer!
My gorgeous organza slip dress (code JILLIAN-15)
xx Jillian
